Character Level: 15-17

Synopsis

Back in Sayre the party learns that many leaders have been killed, and assists with the election of a new leader. That done the party learns of Cachlain's role in recent events, and travels to the Feywild to see if he can be brought to the Coalition's side. Inzira, an eladrin, claims the Seed of Winter, but allows the party to take it to Cachlain's court, hoping an alliance can be forged against Sangwyr, their mutual foe. Reaching the court they learn the king's advisor Sovacles weilds great power over the king. The party explores the King's palace, and learns more of the background to his alliance with the Githyanki. An assassination attempt is made upon them, and then an attempted coup upon the king. Sovacles pursuades the king that the party is behind it, but then reveals he is working for Tiamat. The King forces a gladitorial battle between the party and the now-revealed exarch of Tiamat. Should the party win they have a chance of forging an alliance between the fomorian and the eladrin.

Thoughts

Kalad is assassinated offscreen in this module. You may wish to make this death more dramatic, seeing as Kalad has been such a longstanding, and hopefully well-liked NPC.  You might want to have a think about why Kalad could not simply be raised from the dead. An option might be for Kalad to greet the returning heroes, explain the news about Torrance, and then be assassinated in front of them by possessed guards.

• Kalad's elevation to general here seems a bit sudden. His importance and military acumen should be foreshadowed in HotBG.
