Synopsis
Lavinya approaches the party and tells them that Haelyn is missing, and other priests are acting strangely. Investigating the party discover some of the city heirarchy have been possessed, and others replaced by dopelgangers. The party finds the conspirators HQ and frees Durkik. The party learns of an enormous subterranean temple and travels there via portal to seek a book of great power. There they encounter fey raiders sent by Cachlain, and mercenaries sent by Zithiruun. The party and their foes cannot leave until they find the Caretaker and turn off the Temple's defenses. Thoughts
Lots of NPCs and revelations of backstory in this module, along with a suitably climactic conclusion to the Heroic tier.
Continuity Notes
- With so many NPCs featuring in this module you'll want to ensure many of them are familiar faces (Haelyn, Lavinya, Megan, Durkik and Aerun should all have made at least one appearance at an earlier stage if possible)
- Also, consider bringing Kalad in. Perhaps he also has some information about the possessed priests. Remind the PCs of him since he will show up again in later installments.
- The module says that Clan Ironfell is backing the reconstruction of the old temple of Moradin; however, the text seems to imply that the PCs had run afoul of this dwarven clan in "Lost Mines of Karak." This is, of course, wrong, since Bram Ironfell gave them the quest to find the Karak Lode. They did run afoul of Clan Hammerfist en route to Dunesend, so changing all references from Ironfell to Hammerfist would make a great deal more sense. Conversely, this may be a good time to show that Clan Ironfell is in some manner suspicious, to foreshadow Bram Ironfell's high level role in the opposition forces in TotSSK.

Clearly, the Dwarf clan subplot is broken, anyone have any better solution than the two contradictory items presented for Ironfell/Hammerfist above?
