  • Kalad, representing Overlook. Kalad is killed off-screen during AaN.
  • Fariex the Scalehammer, invited because of his connections to many far-reaching settlements, town- ships, and ports, and the wealth and military might they represent.
  • Caliandra of the Stagrunners, representing all the tribes that live in the wild reaches to the north and west of Elsir Vale.
  • Lord Divian Torrance, representing Sayre. Lord Torrance is killed off-screen during AaN.

  • Druemmeth Goldtemple, representing the eladrin of the Feywild, joins after TotSSK.

important trade guilds.

Exarchs of Tiamat

  • Chillreaver (represents the white head, found in AaN)
  • Virizan (represents the green head, found in TofSSK)
  • Mornujhar (represents the black head, found in GotMS)
  • Namissi (represents the blue head, found in ToF)
  • Quanathrik (represents the red head, found in LBotDQ)

Farstriders

Details: Led by Edgar Sommerfield, a warlord of some fame, the Farstriders are far and above the most successful adventuring party in Elsir Vale at the start of SoBW. They’ve slain a black dragon, ousted a nest of kobolds, and even undertaken an expedition into the Shadowfell. They all die at the hands of Tusk's forces

Members: Edgar Sommerfield, twin elf rangers Uulath and Reiner, Jen (half-elf warlock), and Corben (human fighter).

Freeriders

Details: The Freeriders formed up six months ago in Elsir’s Crossing. They left the small community and headed east, where they dealt with a foul cabal of

cultists in an isolated town called Beacon. After, they returned to Brindol for some down time and learned of the impending threat

Members: Megan Swiftblade, Ragnum Dourstone, Sylen Leafrunner, Ghena Tenson, Madrick

Lost Ones

Details: A powerful thieves guide located in Overlook's Tradetown district. Among other things they run protection rackets on shop owners have extensive spy network which allows them to eventually learn about everything that happens within Overlook.

Members:

  • Szagyn - Lost One Underboss

Features in: SoBW, tSRoU, DotD

Plot Notes: While there is a potential "random encounter" with the Lost Ones in SoBW, they do not have involvement with the overarching plot in that installment, In tSRoU Modra hires the Lost Ones to ambush and recover a brass key that the PCs obtained from Iranda in SoBW. In DotD the Lost Ones kidnap Alys who is trying to deliver a message to the PCs in Overlook. The Lost Ones (and the AP) assume that the PCs will attempt to rescue Alys and will give them an opportunity for revenge.

Other Thoughts: While the Lost Ones are referred to as a thieves guild most of the encounters involve some type of muscle and there are references to their enforcers. To me the Lost Ones seems more like a strong arm gang that "shake down" their victims then the shadowy thieves guide that sneaks in steals or assassinates.
